For the last few months, Lance has been posting the top plays of the month. i take the list and go do a written for each ticker and what opportunity was missed
these writings are my personal thoughts and my attempt to understand why he mentioned those tickers and to one day add those plays to my playbook
I have not discussed these with Lance and I don’t not claim these are my ideas. I’m just a big fan of what he does for the trading community 🙂
so here we go:
SMCI 3/1/2024
SMCI Daily chart on 3rd of march, a lot of people expected that clearout candle to be the end of the insane rally, however it consolidated on the daily
This will be one of Lance’s few tricky setups, I’m not sure what exactly could be the play other than this. consolidation all day long and then a breakout. sort of VVOS style.
yes ik vvos and smci are nothing alike, it’s just that these consolidations the whole day above vwap and then breakout + volume tend to show up a lot on Lance’s twitter feed

BTC 3/5/2024
BTC daily chart on the before ( 3/4/2024.) massive rally.
However, it then sold off massively and made a daily candle that took the previous 5-day lows. the sell-off came in different legs
Lance criteria tend to look for the biggest leg + speed +volume for capitulation
we can see that in this candle below
Entering on that candle and risking lows would have been a GREAT trade. because that was the lowest it got, followed by a multi-day rally to 73,000$+
NVDA 3/8/2024

the trade was on the GAP up and the massive extension. many people expected 1000s to hit. however, it reversed early on the day
The break of 946s gave a perfect entry to short and join the sell-off. Simple trade yet the payout was huge

I’m not sure why Lance put this as a play. i assume this was based on the story that came out from the YouTuber that hit stock price?

SOUN 3/14/2024
SOUN had a multi-day breakout. it kept consolidating and ripping to new highs
on the 13 after hours it made big extended move , which caused the gap up short setup. however I’m not sure what will be the best way to play this. i would wait for premarket high to clear out before taking a short, however it didn’t
the only other possible play that i can see is joining the breakdown of the lows
This could be one of those predictable replicable easy money plays that lances talks about
NOVA 3/14/2024
Nova is a classic lance setup, massive extension to the downside + speed + volume.
enter and trail 2min candle.
lance has talked about this setup countless times, on his Twitter and on his SMB videos. became iconic
However this stock also had a play to the downside. that i didn’t catch until i went through lance video on twitter that you can find here

I will be skipping this one because im not sure how he plays ipos. and which date he referred too? could be multi-day play with the huge range and volume

MSTR Daily setup going into the day
MSTR. the crazy one. i bet he was happy when it finally broke down
of the open, we see a bit of weakness and consolidation followed by a breakdown
Given the daily chart, the breakdown of previous days low at 1842 . would give the highest Expected value, confirming its now downtrending
there was also a short-selling report catalyst i believe
trailing 2min candle would give this trade Huge reward

The basketball analogy kind of applies here,. bounced twice of the support. and then it broke it with volume,
Key Takeaway
All these are relatively easy setups. they are repeatable and scalable- . especially on large names. however I need to find a better way to look for stocks in play
will work next month to catch at least one of these stock-in-play opportunities on small size . especially when small cap is dead. would be helpful to to have one of these stups , should start tracking
